Is it legal to sell things I make at home, online?

If i wanted to buy bottles, jars and ingredients WHOLESALE from a website, make cosmetics out of them, and then sell them on my own website after putting labels I made on them... is that legal? Or do I have to get a law approved? I'm a little confused on the legalities of online businesses
