What should I expect at a Baptist Sunday service?
A close friend of mine has invited me to a service at her Baptist church this Sunday. So, I decided to go to this service right after M at my parish. As a Roman Catholic, I would like to know what I should expect as far as what the Baptist service will be like and how it is structured. What are some of the differences between the very liturgical Catholic M that I am use to and the Baptist service? I am used to doing things such as genuflecting toward the altar and kneeling. Would it be appropriate for me to make the sign of the cross before and after prayers? Are there many responses that are to be said by the congregation like at M? Do Baptists partake in Communion? What do Baptists typically wear to church? In general, are Baptists welcoming of Catholics in their churches? I would greatly appreciate any helpful information that you can give me. I am really looking forward to visiting a Baptist church, and I think it will be a great learning experience! Thank you!!!
