Is it true that electric guitars creat electricity from playing them?

I've several guitars and the most voltage out of any one of them is 500mV (open circuit measured on an oscilloscope) out of a b guitar but the current is puny so you aren't going to charge a battery by playing your favorite Flea riffs from the Red Hot Chilli Pepper's in a hurry.
