What US or Euro resort is best over holidays for short lines, great terrain, and great town for non-skiers?
Someone in my family suggested Breckenridge, but I heard it is bursting at the seems with crowds during holiday week. I am trying to find a place a little bigger than Breckenridge, with short lift lines, similar lodging and general vacation costs, and very importantly, someplace with a great town for non-skiers. I was thinking of Courchevel or Chamonix (use to live in France), but am not sure if that would end up being a lot more expensive. I also thought of Big Sky or Banff / Lake Louisee, but at least the former might not have a lot to offer (as I understand it) for the non-skiers. We have a group of nine - three experts, one intermediate, one beginner, and the rest non-skiers. Thanks for your help!
